Aparência e Essência
Nesta série, cada retrato desfaz o vínculo imediato entre o que se vê e o que se é. As figuras humanas surgem parcialmente encobertas por blocos cromáticos densos, que mais revelam do que ocultam.
A técnica remete à tensão constante entre aparência social e essência subjetiva: o que escondemos atrás dos olhos, o que o mundo espera que sejamos, e aquilo que realmente pulsa sob a pele.
A espátula, ao desconstruir o rosto, constrói identidade. A cor, ao esconder o olhar, revela o conflito. A imagem, ao ser fragmentada, humaniza.

Appearance and Essence
In this series, each portrait breaks the immediate link between what is seen and what is.
The human figures appear partially veiled by dense chromatic blocks — which reveal more than they conceal.
The technique alludes to the constant tension between social appearance and subjective essence: what we hide behind our eyes, what the world expects us to be, and what truly pulses beneath the skin.
The palette knife, in deconstructing the face, constructs identity.
The colour, in obscuring the gaze, reveals the conflict.
The image, by being fragmented, becomes more human.
The series poses the following questions:
• Are we what we show?
• Or what remains when everything is stripped from the gaze?
